FAQ

Questions about opening 3D files online

How do I open an E57 file online?

The free Lite Viewer does not open E57. E57 scans open in the full SpatialSense platform, which you can try with a free trial. If you can export the scan as LAS or LAZ, it opens in the Lite Viewer with no account.

Can I view a LAS file without software?

Yes. Go to 3dviewer.spatialsense.app and drop in your LAS or LAZ file. It opens in the browser, with nothing to install and no account.

How do I view an IFC model in the browser?

Open the Lite Viewer and drag your IFC file into the window. You can move around the model, measure and comment for free.

How do I view Insta360 360° photos online?

The free Lite Viewer only shows a sample 360° panorama. You cannot upload your own. In the full SpatialSense platform you can upload 360° images (JPG, PNG or ZIP, with pose metadata), or capture walks with the Trace app and an Insta360 X4 or X5.

Which files can I open?

The free Lite Viewer opens .las, .laz, .ply, .ifc, .glb and .splat files, one at a time. E57 scans, 360° images and floor plans need the full platform.

Is it really free?

Yes. Opening files, measuring and commenting are free with no account. Saving and downloading need a SpatialSense account.

Is my file private?

You do not need an account to open a file, and analytics only runs if you accept cookies. When you save to SpatialSense, projects are private by default and only people you invite can open them.

Was this called the Free 3D Viewer?

Yes. The Lite Viewer is the new name for the free SpatialSense 3D Viewer. It is at the same address: 3dviewer.spatialsense.app.

How is it different from SpatialSense?

The Lite Viewer opens one file at a time for a quick look. SpatialSense is the full platform for teams: projects, dated surveys, 360° walks, issues, reports and sharing.
