What’s the Easiest Way to Get Daily Construction Reports?
At the end of most site days, someone sits in the site office with a phone full of photos and starts pasting them into a template. On an embassy build we worked on in Islamabad, that was how the client’s report came together, with photographs pasted under a heading for each work package, one at a time. The easiest daily report is the one nobody has to write, and a 360° walk can now produce it for you.
Let the walk write the report
With SpatialSense, a site engineer walks the floor with a 360° camera and our Trace app, which keeps recording even when there’s no signal. Every frame lands on the floor plan, so the system knows exactly where each one was taken. The AI then compares today’s walk with the last one, station by station, and writes down what changed, what didn’t, and which image shows it.
The system wrote this line about a residential tower in Lahore after comparing two walks taken 48 hours apart.
“Relocation and extension of green safety netting on the right side of the floor; the netting is now secured to a vertical pole framework closer to the central core.”
Nobody typed it, and every clause points back to the image it came from, so when the client asks where, the answer is one click away.
A report the same day, every day
A long walk takes up to about four hours to process, and the AI analysis runs in two to ten minutes after that, so a morning walk becomes a multi-page PDF later the same day. Each report includes snapshots and every issue with its photo and its place on the plan, and you can generate them by hand or have them produced automatically. Because every report follows the same structure, Tuesday’s lines up with Monday’s, and a month of them reads like a timeline of the job.
What you need to start
You need one person who walks the site and a 360° camera. Trace records with the Insta360 X4 and X5, and other compatible cameras can upload through the browser, so most teams begin with a camera they already own. Setup is light enough that one of your sites can be onboarded within a week.
